Pretty Little Spider

I couldn’t get a definitive ID for this spider, but I think it might be a cryptic orbweaver, due to the shape of the abdomen and the hairy head. The patterns and colours differ quite a lot. It was about 6-7mm long.

Today was a proper nor’wester day- overcast with a warm wind. When I got up at 6.30am the outdoor temperature was 21ºC. I washed my sheets and hung them out at 8.00am. By 10.00am they were back on my bed. That’s how I like it, though the constant untangling and repegging keeps me busy.
