Tree Island

Went to explore a local conservation area - a bright sunny, blue sky day, still with some snow on the ground. This clump of trees stood out like an island in the field. I was attracted by the way it slopes off to the left and the long shadow. Also the brown leaves catching some highlights and the bright yellow stubble of the leaves.

There was a lot to see, being a new area for me, and the extra is my favourite of the day, but having chosen quite a few plant and leaf close ups recently, it got relegated.
