Farewell Old Year

The tradition in Biggar is to build a huge bonfire in the centre of the High Street with nearby buildings protected from the intense heat and one of the main roads between Edinburgh and the South closed for the occassion.  The tradition is of burning the ills of the old year ready for the new.  If only it were so easy.

Just as well it is a tradition, no way would this get off the ground these days.
