Trying to get airborne

A very hot afternoon walk to nearby hang gliding launching hill. One valiant hang glider (pilot?) was trying in vain to find enough hot air to send him over the cliff and on his way.
As I looked back 20 minutes later there was still no sign of him...I do hope he did manage get even a short flight today.
