Wine tasting

In spite of year long snow on the mountains near Kaikoura, a Welshman has established a winery where we sampled six of his wines. It was fascinating to see the place as he had handmade most of his equipment from odds and ends.
Kaikoura is situated near the sea where there is an abundance of marine life due to the upwelling currents from the nearby deep Hikurangi Trench and some of the group went whale and dolphin watching.
