Democracy & exchange rate

Matthew Parris raised some interesting questions in his Saturday column in the Times ( “MP must be brave and tell us we were wrong “). Although comment is about GB and “the Will of the People “ and how sometimes popular judgement is faulty, parallels can be drawn with what is gong in Croatia. The official opposition as of few days ago is a party full of conspiracy theorists and all sorts of things are getting legitimacy simply because of popular opinion. One of them is popularity of anti Euro movement although local currency have been pegged to first Deutschemark and then for more than 20 years and most of saving have been in foreign currency for more than half century. But as we live in the times when will of the people is paramount nothing surprises me : maybe be it is time to go back to flogging and hanging
