Dark side of the satsuma

I've been trying to learn about focus stacking. Unlike LooseCanon's fancy camera mine doesn't automatically take fifteen photos at the correct steps of focus. We, or rather he has been investigating some software which does this for you. It involves linking your ( my )camera to a computer via a cable and telling it the nearest point of focus and the farthest then you press a button and by some magic it takes the photos and then merges them together. I could still do manual slices of focus but I was trying to make it a bit easier.  You still get the nice blurry background. 
Quite a lot of faff for a mouldy orange.
