A beech wood between corners of fields

I've often observed this little planted beech wood which nestles between several fields. Once ui walked around and under the canopy to look for the nest of a pair of buzzards high up on the tree tops. When the leaves are fully grown the undergrowth is in near darkness. It seems strange to me to now be able to see right through the wood.

I liked the contrast of the sky and grass in the nearest field compared to the rich reddy-brown earth of the recently ploughed fields beyond.
