Whiting the lead

Finally on to finishing the windows !
I spread black putty all over and then brushed it in to the gaps under the lead. Then covered everything in ‘whiting ‘ which is chalk powder. This soaks up some of the linseed oil from the putty to help it set hard.
Then I spent a while rubbing any excess putty off the lead, as it is hard to remove when dry.
Tomorrow I get to clean all that off then turn over and do the same again!
Really messy but great fun!
