These shoes are made for walking
My father lived to be 98 years of age. My grandmother was nearly a 100 when she died.
Neither of them had ever been near a gym in their lives. But they had walked. Every day of their lives on the Welsh hills.
I mention this because at this time of the year folk are rushing off to the gym determined to become “gym bunnies”.
Yet the latest research shows that you can save yourself an awful lot of money, stress and time by simply walking every day.
Moreover, an article in yesterday’s Guardian - Vybarr Cregan-Reid- said Olympians buy themselves on average an extra 2.8 years of life compared to the rest of us.
It has been suggested that a dog is the answer. Then you have to get out and walk.
