Islay Half

Last day of our Hebridean holiday today and the day of the Islay Half-marathon. Several months ago (when planning the holiday and realising that I'd be there on the day of the half) I had thought that it would be good to enter, and run a half quite different from the EMF. It would seem that, after a week on Mull and a week on Islay, stuffing my face with burgers, beer and whisky, it was not a good idea to then run 21km on a fairly hilly route. As a result, I ran my slowest half time - 2hrs 14 mins, a lot of which was walking. Still, it was an experience, and was worth it for the finishers tshirt (which were sponsored by Ardbeg).
