Above And Beyond...

Head To Head

Today we left our hotel accommodation at Spier Farm Winelands, Stellenbosch (South Africa) to travel the 305 miles to Plettenberg Bay. This was heading east along the N2, and at one point the sat nav said to go ahead 175 miles (no turn offs) across the African plains. The sun was out and it was an enjoyable drive. Beautiful scenery.

The main stop was at Hooikraal Farm Buthery, like a motorway service station at the half way point. We stopped there last January. Home made pie, chips, and gravy for me and a large wrap for Mrs BB plus lemonades was about £7!!  We don't normally eat lunchtime but at those prices it criminal not too.

Besides home cooked food, a library, etc., there's also a farm. These Ostrich were next to the car park and as I got close to take a photo the one caught my shutter finger! I've got his photo for his crime sheet!

We've now arrived at our Plettenberg Bay apartment for the next eight nights. We had four nights here last year and we loved the upmarket town.
