Three Wise Men

6th January 2019:

Today marks the end of Christmas, but for Christians in is the day of the arrival of the wise men from the East, who were interested in a bright star.

"The Star of Bethlehem, or Christmas Star, appears only in the nativity story of the Gospel of Matthew, where "wise men from the East" (Magi) are inspired by the star to travel to Jerusalem. There they meet King Herod of Judea, and ask, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?"

Our  "three wise men from the East": Jack, Max, and Tino set up the Nativity Crib in the Living room, and were wise enough to remain outside the stable until today (the statues of course).

This Christmas night ceremony has been a feature of our Christmases for 50 years now, but this is our first year we had three wise men, and two, are from the East!!
