Great Spotted Woodpecker

I was really lucky today, I just happened to be in the kitchen when this lovely bird visited... I had brought the camera and lens dow ready to set up later so it was to hand.  It was still quite gloomy outside and I had to go to ISO 8000 and hand hold this particularly heavy lens.

I hope it comes back in better light.

The rest of the day was taken up with church at Bartlow and a trip to Scotsdales for bird food in the afternoon.
