Ukrainians who are Greek Catholic and Eastern Orthodox usually celebrate Christmas on January 7 (on December 25, Julian calendar).

At the center of the table is the large bowl of wheat porridge mixed with nuts, poppy seeds and honey. This traditional dish is called Kutia.
