Fire and Ice

When I opened the curtains this morning the sky was the most fabulous pink, perfect for blipping. However I took this photo about 15 minutes later than I wanted....a result of Rob needing help to find his school tie....sigh* The floods 2 weeks ago led to the emergency evacuation of these horses as the field was totally underwater....you can see large puddles remaining which were frozen over this morning!

It was -3C when I went out!!

Apologies for poor quality photo....took the compact camera!!

Usual busy Thursday here....and Rob has a school rugby match to add into the mix too!!

Keep warm everyone x

Lucy really enjoyed the lecture yesterday entitled 'How Round is your Circle'. Very interesting. Apparently Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in 1986 because the '0' seal was not round enough! The definition of a circle is that it measures exactly the same across at an infinite number of points.....the talk was to show how some other shapes do as well...a 50p piece for example..but this will leave gaps when fitted into a cylinder. This is what happened in the Challenger disaster when fuel leaked though the 'gaps'!!
