Abandoned Marina

DB’s Marina Community have all moved out now as the developer is planning on updating this site.

Sadly all the residents, the largest houseboat community in the world, were evicted, so to speak, and had to find new homes or berths for their houseboats.

We walked across there to see what it looks like and it’s pretty sad. A once thriving, close-knit community of over 200 families had 4 months to relocate and find new homes. It really rocked this entire community and it has left some families bankrupt, as their houseboats now had no value!

Waiting to see what they’ll do with this site now and whether those folk will be allowed back. That was their biggest concern, whether they’d be allowed to return once the site was renovated.
