Tug-O-War

Today was Houes sports day - not your usual athletics-type-sports-day but more a day aimed at breaking down barriers between year levels, getting the new year 9's involved in their Form classes and having fun with a capital F-U-N!!

Events for the day include the egg throw, 3-legged race, paired obstacle course, tea-towel throw, mass jump-rope, sponge relay and mat balance - then in the pool we have the doggie-paddle relay (extra points for barking as you swim!), cork scramble, op-shop swap.............and the perennial favourite - the dry teacher carry!! (Would love to have blipped a shot of this but too many identifiable faces.....)

This year we had a male staff v year 13 boys tug-o-war to finish the day off. The male staff put the lads well and truly in their place but the scores were evened up when the girls challenged the women staff....we were royally thrashed!!

So this is a shot of the Year 13 lads - and yes, they are bare-chested, painted green, dressed in tights and pink shorts. Things were never like this when I was at school. Times - how they've changed!!

A great day though - and the winners were all those who had fun!!
