Was It Really So Long Ago

James H Holland

Ray was with us again today. He has a lot of experience in his line of work as a chippy (not the edible variety) and was putting it to good use fitting our new internal doors. They're required to meet the latest building control regulations as we're having a couple of extra rooms built on the side of the house. He's making a fine job of it, but causing Beloved a degree of angst in the process. It seems his idea of clearing away wood chipping and dust at the end of the day hasn't met with her approval.

You just can't make an omelette without breaking eggs and tomorrow he will be finished. Unfortunately on moving one of the doors today, the glass in this frame was broken. It will be replaced, but on taking the picture out of the frame, we found this unfinished work, clearly rejected as the paper has been re-used on the other side.

I quite like it and so my curiosity as to the identity of James H Holland was aroused. A quick Google search hasn't turned up any likely candidates so far. Perhaps he will remain a mystery. I'm guessing he is an artist local to South East London, but it is a guess.

By the way, I'm liking the new Blipfoto app lots
