Bristol

Spent the day with my sister in Bristol – she came up from Plymouth and I across from Buckinghamshire.

Looked at places we hadn’t visited in years and down on the docks found the sculpture of John Cabot, who in 1497 discovered the coast of North America under the commission of Henry VII of England.  It is the earliest known European exploration of coastal North America since the Norse visits in the eleventh century.

The second blip is a ferry service that now runs round the centre of Bristol using the waterways.  It was lovely and the figurehead was something to admire!
