Twinkle Toes

Here they are, the golden football boots which have become a favourite with the boys visiting the exhibition this week.

The boys like the fun, too, in the name, 'Twinkle Toes'.

Some of the boys have said that one day they're going to have golden football boots. Some have said they know people who had boots like these, but not golden ones. (The boots, in fact, once belong to George Wyllie's grandson.) All the boys who have mentioned them were united in saying the boots were 'cool'.

Funny what catches the imagination.

Working on the website today, creating the staff area, there has been a lot of thinking about different ways in which the images of George Wyllie's work could be used... to stimulate writing, or drama, or music, or art, or discussion of ideas, or investigation of issues, or consideration of the past, or understanding of the present, or anticipation of the future. It'll be interesting to see where the pupils take it. It already is.

So, those golden football boots... What do they say? What's the story? What's their soundtrack? How do they look like to you? Any ideas?

Tomorrow, another school is coming to visit. We'll let you know what the pupils say.
