Beverley Minster

We are having a night in Beverley prior to meeting up with an old friend tomorrow for a walk on the Lincolnshire Wolds.
It's my first visit to Beverley, but it is a lovely town. Its famous minster is magnificent and is apparently regarded as a gothic masterpiece.
Its two great towers are a superlative example of what is known as the Perpendicular style, and formed the inspiration for the present west towers of Westminster Abbey, designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. It is because Westminster Abbey resembles Beverley Minster that the minster has been used several times as a film set. The ITV drama Victoria, and BBC's Gunpowder were filmed here.

There's a shot of the West doors in the extra. I could have done with my other camera with the wide angle lens, but just managed to squeeze it in.
