Mezquita, Cordoba

A morning in Córdoba on our return to Seville. Little did we know that David, my husband, had flown in yesterday and was trying to sneak up on us. We missed each other but he turned up at our hotel in Seville this evening.... what an amazing surprise, he doesn’t usually do “spontaneous”!

This is the dome of the Mosque-Cathedral or Mezquita, the outer mosque dating back to 784 before the Christian church was built inside it from 1236. At least the wonderful building was not destroyed!

Now we are back in a warm and comfortable hotel, relishing a bit of luxury after our lovely, but basic hotel, in cold Sierra Andujar. The temperatures were unexpectedly cold and we were glad to have taken lots of skiing layers with us!

A huge thank you for all the love given to the previous two days Iberian lynx photos. How lucky we were! Now we have to find a European Lynx in our local Alps, but they are much more difficult to see!
