The chewy bone dilemma

Our dog Pearl seems to be rather confused about her new chewy bone. As you can see, the white bone is pretty chewed up at each end, so one day I got a new one for her. Because it is not white nor the same size and texture, she sees it more as a possession to hide than as a bone to chew. Consequently I have found it hidden in the covers on my bed more than once. If I toss it I know she will hunt for it so we let her use it as she will.
