Cards and letters

My oldest schoolmate with whom I played even before starting school has been beyond reach for several years now. She can no longer read or write, and can't find words, so we can't talk over the phone. She lives so far away that I can't possibly visit.

It is the oldest friends that you miss the most. 

Her husband has sponsored many artists, and I assume that this is one of them. P. used to write letters on the back of the cards, long letters that continued from one (numbered) card to the other. The one to the left, "Under dark starry sky" is my favorite. I keep them near my desk where I see them all the time.

These cards came in 2011. Name of the artist is Anna-Liisa Hakkarainen (b.1946).
