Piedra Lumbre

This shot was taken from the hill above chimney rock--standing tall in the middle of the image. Behind it, is a survey of the valley of the Piedra Lumbre (shining stone) captured with a wide angle lens.

On the horizon, one can see Cerro Pedernal, usually called just "pedernal", the flat top mountain and the Jemez mountains on the horizon. The body of water is Abiquiu Lake.

This was a hike of an easy 3.5 miles round trip from Ghost Ranch, NM. Piedra Lumbre
