Rosehip

Took this shot of a rosehip berry or seedpod in he OGH garden this morning. Apart from being wonderful to look at, rosehips have been traditionally used for different purposes.

"For example rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are integral for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin. It's no wonder that the oil has long been used as a folk remedy for wound healing, as well as the reduction of scars and fine lines."

Fresh rose hip contains a lot of vitamin C, so it shares many uses with vitamin C which is usually made synthetically.  The berry contains the seeds of the rose bush.
