Strike!

Civil servants are striking in the island this week following years of frustration of being underpaid and undervalued by our local government. Today there was a demonstration in the Royal Square whilst the government where sitting and presumably discussing the revolting peasants outside.

I joined a friend on her lunch hour, she hasn't joined the union yet, but still wanted to support her colleagues. It was a very good natured demonstration with good speeches from the union reps and some very supportive politicians. Of course only time will tell if it can be resolved sooner rather than later.
