Wound up in Wexford

Framed

My mum sewed this picture for R when she was little - so probably over 30 years ago.  She had it framed and it travelled to Sweden with the big stuff, but shortly after they hung it on the wall, it broke - R thinks the frame was damaged in transit, and the whole lot fell on the floor, creating quite a mess of broken glass.

At Xmas, she brought the stitching back to the UK, so I could reframe it.  I bought a made to measure frame, and spent an hour or so restretching it this morning.  It's protected with clear Perspex instead of glass, so the whole thing is lighter, and if it does fall, at least it won't make a dangerous  mess

The scale isn't obvious from the photo, but it is pretty large - the best part of three feet wide!  So I won't be carrying it back to Sweden this weekend - it is well outside Ryanair's hand baggage dimensions.  It'll have to wait for our trip with the car in the spring.
