Matthew Flinders - gave Australia its name

Kneeling in the wet outside Euston station, I wonder how many people stop to read the inscription on his monument. He was a Lincolnshire born Royal Navy captain who was the first man to circle Australia and chart its southern coast. He was the first to use the name ‘Australia’ although previously the land mass had been known as ‘terra australis’.
