Flashing Robins

When I get dispatched, all the times to leave, deliver and.. are already set up.. Policy is to leave one hour earlier to allow for traffic, construction or.. So today I had half an hour to sit at a picnic table with a 33 F / 1 C temperature outside, playing with my camera... Not enough light to use low light mode so I turned on the flash and...

The photo on the left intrigues me as the head is in focus but not the body. Depth of field I know but it's all automatic and this robin was "in the focus box" so... 

The photo on the right was in the forest and the camera didn't want to focus at all, so I put it in infinity mode and this is the shot I got. Worked pretty well

Off to Tualatin Oregon tomorrow..
