Table Top Project

Found this table top in Suzy's Antique Shop. It had no legs and I will add some. But first I need to consider what to do about the finish. Wiping with mineral spirits and acetone did not soften or brighten it. I want to be careful about stripping it because it is such a beautiful piece of wood. 

Extra photo shows the overall view. I suspect that it was a coffee table but am not sure. I plan to use it behind a couch.
