Cen y coed

Cen y coed ~ Tree lichens

————— ————— ————— ————— ————— ————— —————

Cerddais i i'r pentref heddiw. Ar fy mhen fy hunan y tro yma. Mae pen-glin tost gyda Nor'dzin ac roeddwn i'n edrych am becyn rhew i helpu gyda'r poen. Roeddwn i'n gallu prynu'r un olaf yn Boots.

Roeddwn i'n edmygu'r  cen ar y coed ar fy ffordd adre. Maen nhw'n tyfu yn araf iawn, felly mae hyn yn eithaf hen.

Doeddwn i ddim yn gwybod y gair 'cen' o'r blaen.  Roedd rhaid i mi edrych mewn geiriadur ac yn chwilio ar y we. Mae'n ddiddorol beth ddych chi'n gallu ffeindio.  Pan wnes i chwilio am 'cen y coed'' ffeindiais i eiriau gan 'Nightwish', band sy'n dod o Ffindir.  Doeddwn i ddim yn gwybod roedden nhw wedi ysgrifennu pethau yn Gymraeg..

'Sain y niwl,
Gaunt y goydwig fwsog,
Gwenithfaen, cen y coed, a'r lleuad,
Un gway f'adenydd I dapestri bywyd'
'My Walden', Nightwish.

I walked to the village today. On my own this time. Nor'dzin has a sore knee and I was looking for a ice pack to help with the pain. I was able to buy the last one in Boots.

I admired the lichen on the trees on my way home. They grow very slowly, so this is quite old.

I did not know the word 'cen' ('lichen')before. I had to look in a dictionary and search the web. It's interesting what you can find. When I searched for 'cen y coed' I found words by 'Nightwish', a band that comes from Finland. I did not know they had written things in Welsh.

'The sound of mist, smell of moss-grown woods -
Granite, lichen, the trees and the Moon
Weaving my world into tapestry of life'
'My Walden', Nightwish.
