Mom To The Rescue

Caught this handsome fellow with Mark down in Skagit Valley but had a heck of a time identifying him until I called mom. She found him in no time and now we know he is a Northern Harrier hawk. It's a game of patience to wait for them to decide to come out of the tall grass, and now we know why everybody parked on the side of the road is dressed for all weather, with tripods, lenses the size of an artillery device, and coolers in the back of their SUV's. And fortunately there's a porta potty not far down the road.
