Not forgotten

To Leatherhead this morning to collect my new spectacles. I'm pleased with them, they look good and I am sorted after my cataract procedures. I did a Sainsbury shop afterwards.

In the centre of Leatherhead there used to be a famous inn called The Swan. It grew into a large hotel with an important part to play in the social life if the town. It had its own brewery. It closed in 1936 and the crossroads area was widened. The white swan which stood on top of the portico of the old hotel was saved, and now adorns the ugly 1930s building that replaced it.
The blue sky in the photo shows what a lovely Spring like day we have had.
