Tomb effigy of Sir Francis Smith

Today I visited St Peter's Church, Wootton Wawen, (also known as The Saxon Sanctuary). It is one of the oldest buildings in the Midlands - Its tower dates back to the 900s, maybe even earlier.

I came across this tomb effigy which is of Sir Francis Smith depicting him as a bearded knight in armour in a reclining position. Sir Francis was the Lord of the Manor of Wootton until his death in 1605.
