Hidden by cloud

Like many people we were up very early hoping to catch a glimpse of the Super, wolf blood moon . Unfortunately the moon that has been shining through the bedroom window for the last few nights was no where to be seen, hiding under a thick blanket of cloud. It was freezing out and we had to scrap all the windows of the car but we did go out in hope of a break in the cloud, no luck so back home, Mike went back to bed, I stayed up.
We went back out mid morning to get some food for dinner.
A dull day so not much light for photos. As we drove past the Fairy Glen a lady waved us down.We thought perhaps there were sheep or cows on the road but she had a flat tyre and had run out of credit on her phone .So after a few phone calls Mike had organised someone to come and help and we headed for Cromarty.
Bought some soup and cheese scones from Cooper Creek and drank it looking over the Sutors. A couple of long tailed ducks were busy diving and several Eider ducks came into land.
On to wash the car , I watched a goldcrest pecking among the pine cones on a tree nearby and read some of my book.
High tide so the birds were all gathered in the centre. Two buzzards were pecking at a blackbag in the field.
We went up to Ponytzfield to look at the snowdrops and aconites .They were much further ahead than this time last year. This pretty cluster were growing near on of the houses.
I made some oat cakes when I got home to make sure it was easy enough to the Brownies to do, I think it will be messy but easy enough :)
