Meanwhile, at the coast..

WorMa quite possibly had a hand in this.......

......vintage paint card dating from MCMXLVII 1947. My next-sis-down chanced upon a website last week devoted to the history of the paint/varnish works WorMa worked in after the war and right up until I burst upon the scene at the Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital just up the road in 1951. Ma worked in the 'Advertising Department' of Smith and Walton's 'Hadrian' Paint Works, and one of her jobs (apart from the main one of tinting paints) was to spray sample sheets of colour later to be chopped up and glued onto colour cards. In fact that led to my Ma and Pa first starting 'speaking'.....he was a young fireman doing the 1949 version of a H&S inspection at the time and he gave her a stern talking to for not wearing a face mask.......
And the rest, as they say, is history ;-)
