The Coffin Route

It was foggy and very cold (-4) the morning. It was my day off and we had planned to go for a walk somewhere. Off we went down the M6 in thick freezing fog. Once we got past Penrith the fog lifted and we had fabulous views of a snow covered Lake District.

We left the car at White Moss car park between Grassmere and Rydal and headed off for a potter around the lake. A quick spot of refreshment at the Teashop at Rydal Hall was very welcome before we headed back along the coffin route to Grassmere.
