Sandbanks-Studland ferry out of commercial action

The ferry which travels across the mouth of Poole Harbour has been in difficulties for about two months.  It is said to have continuing hydraulic problems.

Not a good thing for locals (e g inhabitants or tourist trade in Swanage).  They will have to drive via Wareham: the route Studland - Wareham - Sandbanks is about 30 miles, and will at least an hour in heavy traffic.  Not good for the tourist trade.....

I was surprised to see the ferry crossing this morning, albeit not by the public and at a VERY slow (well, barely noticeable) speed.

Fingers crossed - I do like to indulge in an occasional sea crossing.
