A little spice

I spent the day visiting family up in Oldham today and took the chance to have a walk around the town with my sister, who still lives there.

I took the picture on the old tommy field market.

20 years ago I used to work on the market and I'd say there was about 20% of the stalls run by Pakistani's. Today, it was more like 90% and I was stood looking and listening to the scene and to people haggling over a few pence here and there, when I realised that the stalls might be full of brightly coloured fabrics and dresses these days - but fundamentally, nothing had changed, it still sounded and felt just like it did 20 years ago!
