Little Egret

Backblip

I got straight after the holiday and then walked to the village shop. I made it a circular around the village and as I was crossing the Castle field I spotted this Little Egret keeping watch on the brook. I only had my compact camera with me but was impressed with it managing to get a reasonable shot on it's full zoom.

A few years ago seeing a Little Egret would have caused much excitement but they have now spread to most parts of the country. While in Snowdonia we passed a field that had at least 17 in!
