Tulip mania

Life isn't a tiptoe through the tulips
(Shannon Hoon)

I love tulips and bought my first bunch this season from our local co-op.

I am reminded of the  'Tulip mania' in the 17th century which  led to the first economic bubble and financial crash. Investors began to madly purchase tulips, pushing their prices to unprecedented highs.
As prices drastically collapsed over the course of a week, many tulip holders instantly went bankrupt.
