Parkrun Selfie

SATURDAY

I don't have many photographs to choose from today, so here's me at the start of today's Parkrun at Storthes Hall Park near Huddersfield.

The 44 acre woodland site is now a student village for the university and a leisure site. It was however originally developed at the turn of the 20th Century as the West Riding of Yorkshire Lunatic Asylum. It completely closed in 1991 and, apart from the gatehouse, was completely demolished.

It's near the top of my list of favourite runs with woodland trails, hills and plenty of mud.  (which resulted in a relatively slow time of 27m 52s).

A walk this afternoon. Ended up in driving rain. Completely soaked.

14,131 steps so far
