Heading South

The wild distribution of the genus Crocus is centred on Turkey and Greece.  There are species through the European mountains and down into the Levant.  There are also  a couple of species that extend down through Spain and into North Africa.  Today's offering is one of two found in the south of Spain, Crocus nevadensis, described from plants growing in the Sierra Nevada.  It has several distinctive botanical features, which I won't bore you with, the delicate flowers are always beautiful.

A quiet day after church this morning, tired but I did sleep better last night and I'm being well looked after.  A good start on the road to feeling brighter.
