The Eleanor Cross

A big day today. Church in Finedon, The Right Reverend Richard Coles was preaching and I spoke to him afterwards. Visited Stamford, a historic Georgian town. Then the Eleanor Cross at Geddington, one of the crosses that Edward 1 had built to commemorate his wife Eleanor (the most famous one is Charring Cross).
We met a Canadian who lectured on the Eleanor Cross and he told us that the original monument was constructed at a cost of approximately 1 million pounds in today’s money. He was very passionate about his subject and told us a whole lot more information.
Then visited Naseby, the site of a famous battle.
