Preston

Up early to be in Preston for a rehearsal at 08:45! Had to be at stage door for 11:15, was nearer 12 when we got in. My feet were freezing, as I was wearing a dress and girlie shoes.

We played well, our Flugelhorn player won best horn, our principle cornet won best soloist, but the band only got 4th overall.

This photo was taken from the Stanley Arms where we rehearsed, which is next to the Guildhall (see extra a grim modern building) of what I believe is the library. A stunning building. They don’t build them like that any more.
