Tiny Winter face...

One of the many artefacts on display at the library this wintery morning, where I went to meet up with my book group. This tiny face (about 5cm tall) was carved 900 years ago to decorate the Chapter House of Keynsham Abbey, a monastic abbey founded c. 1166 by William, Earl of Gloucester. For some background info on the abbey, here’s a link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keynsham_Abbey

A raw cold day, heavy rain but no snow, as yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that the promised snow doesn’t arrive on Thursday and stop the trains running, as has happened in the past. And I’m keeping this brief as my iPad is playing up this evening, it’s taken me two hours to post this blip!
