Orphir to Brig o' Waithe

I walked up Rams Dale then onto the moor and tried to follow peat roads where I could find them, but it was quite difficult in the snow. Such roads only go to the peat cuttings, now long-abandoned, used by people on one side of the hill, then there is a gap until the peat cuttings made by the folk on the other side of the hill, and the track to their homes, so they don't join up.  Onto a track the runs past Heath House above the Mill of Ireland, then down to the mill and along to the brig. i saw a couple of hen harriers, several snipe, a couple of wrens in the heather and tracks of grouse. From the road I could see a couple of otters about 200m south of Brig o Waithe but too distant and mobile for photos.
