Photographic Poeticisms

Chaffinch

What are you looking at
Little bird in twiggy tree
What has caught your eye
What can you see

Is it that bird so black
With beak of bright yellow
Hopping from tree to tree
He's such a handsome fellow

Or perhaps it's that robin
With breast of orange red
Hopping along the branches
Listening with cocked head

Though down upon the floor
Is a dunnock having a search
Is it him you can see
From your lofty perch

Ah but of course it's your lady
Sat straightning a tiny feather
Your ever beloved companion
No matter how bad the weather

With a flutter and a wink
She dances at your side
Standing always close by you
You know, you are her pride
